A Sustainable House: Our Latest New Build Horsham Project

September 11, 2024

Imagine returning home to a modern, eco-friendly oasis. That was the vision of a couple living abroad who sought to build their dream new build in Horsham.

STAAC was tasked with realizing this ambitious project, merging sustainable design with striking architecture. The clients wanted a spacious, light-filled home that integrated smoothly with the landscape from the start.

Design Process: Sustainability and Openness

The design concept centered around creating a home that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The clients were particularly keen on maximizing natural light and creating a strong connection with the outdoors. To achieve this, the architects incorporated large windows, a south-facing orientation, and open-plan living spaces.

Sustainability was another key consideration. We carefully selected materials and construction methods that were environmentally friendly and energy-efficient. This included using sustainable timber for cladding, installing solar panels, and incorporating rainwater harvesting systems.

Construction and Materials

The project was made possible thanks to the expertise and dedication of our team and our trusted suppliers. Together, we worked to ensure that the highest quality materials and workmanship were used throughout the build.

Some of the key suppliers involved in the project included:

  • South Coast Metal Roofing: Provided a durable and stylish aluminum roof.
  • Grufekit: Supplied sedum roofing for the rear flat roof area, contributing to the home's green credentials.
  • Ecoscape: Provided decking and cladding materials.
  • Halo Interiors: Designed and installed the modern kitchen.
  • Simply Bamboo: Supplied bamboo flooring for a natural and sustainable finish.

The Outcome

The final result is a truly exceptional home that exceeds the clients' expectations. The open-plan living areas are bright and airy, thanks to plenty of natural light. Sustainable features make the home comfortable and eco-friendly. The modern look is enhanced by warm, inviting finishes, striking a great balance between style and practicality.

The clients are thrilled with their new home and have expressed their gratitude for our team's dedication and expertise. This project is a testament to our ability to deliver high-quality, sustainable custom homes that meet the unique needs and desires of our clients.
